Since when are Peoria Code Compliance Officers authorized to carry weapons and restraints? Are they AZ-POST Certified, Sworn Officers?
I don't care what they do on their own time, but an ASP Baton is NOT an appropriate "defense against dogs" - it is a lethal weapon against dogs.
Why are they carrying duty belts? Why are they suited up with vests, badges, and black uniforms? The only things a Code Compliance Officer needs is a flashlight, a clipboard, and a tape measure. The only "kit" they should be wearing is a hardhat and work boots.
