This is sort of true except Palantir's software doesn't work and if it did work it doesn't scale.
Palantir is a complex, multiple levels to it grift that's enhanced by cloaking the whole company in secrecy, security clearances and government contracts.
At its core Palantir is just a classic pump and dump where Thiel, Karp, and a couple other insiders control a majority of the stock and they pump it on Reddit then dump it on Reddit. Like I've mentioned earlier the company trading on a 10,000+ multiple on net profit from operations is an absolute insanity.
The core part of the pump actually is what Emily is attacking it as being, except it's not actually what the company is it's just the fugazi presented to investors. Karp/Thiel/et al WANT investors to believe the company is this unstoppable AI all seeing eye that knows everything and can control everything bc if that was true the company would naturally be insanely valuable and people would compete like crazy to be able to own shares of it/own control of it.
In reality Palantir is a barely functional consulting company masquerading as a software company, for each contract Palantir engineers have to show up and build basically a custom solution for every single company (this scales horrifically poorly) and these solutions don't really work.
During the Biden administration Palantir was pumped on these raving bullshit articles about how Palantir could see and identify every single Taliban soldier in Afghanistan and know all of their daily movements, track them. and predict activities weeks in advance, all this fantastical shit.
The reality was the software didn't work at all and the Taliban steamrolled over the country with basically no resistance, with nobody being able to predict it was coming, and ostensibly they also now own the exact same technology lol because it would have been left behind at CIA blacksites as everyone rapidly fled the country, like how they left blackhawk helicopters behind.
OpenAI does a similar version of this grift (Thiel and Musk notably both being early OpenAI backers) where they're like we're going to make God, we're going to unemploy everyone, etc because they pump off of fear. But it's basically just pump the actual product is nowhere near as impressive as it's presented on the investor roadshow. OpenAI's product does actually work to a degree but nowhere near the degree that it's pumped as working at.
It's similar to why Thiel loves crypto because in crypto you can do the same kind of pump and dump maneuver but you don't even need a product at all you can just launch ticker $PONZI sell it at website pon.zi pin "I WILL RUG THE COIN" to your social media and still make millions off it when you dump it on retarded people who bought it.
