Starmer is expected to outline plans to spend 2.5% of GDP on defence (up from 2.3%). IFS Economists have said such a hike on defence spending would cost an additional £6bn - yep...SIX BILLION! To put things (and people!) into perspective, austerity-loving Labour is saving less than a quarter of that £6bn by CUTTING the winter fuel allowance for elderly up and down the country!
How are they going to afford it? cuts cuts cuts of course! FARAGE TO BE PM?
Only with the media's help! Mainstream media is endlessly speculating about Reform leader Nigel Farage one day becoming Prime Minister? But just as with the downfall of the Tories and the "victory" of Labour, it was heavily prophesised by and hence partly caused by the mainstream media! The media class think they exist in a vacuum, merely reporting on events, however much of the time they make the news BY CHOOSING WHAT IS TO BE TALKED ABOUT. By constantly talking about and creating the discourse for the possibility of Farage's prime ministership they may well cause it to be so! However, when it comes to we the Workers Party: MEDIA BLACKOUT....and we still managed to gain over 200,000 votes across the nation.

What is one of Reform UK's main selling points? It is because it presents itself as against the status quo, despite being run by capitalist ruling class representatives - the difference is that it is a different wing of the capitalist ruling class. Just as in America where Donald Trump represents anti-establishment sentiments despite being very much of the establishment himself, he is just a different section of the ruling class. However because everyone is sick and tired and downright angry with the current status quo they turn to those that present themselves as anti-establishment.
Another similarity between Farage and Trump: they are rightwing and position their Labour/Democrat opponents as socialists and hence pin Labour/Democrat failings onto socialism. We need to reclaim the term 'socialist' and educate people clearly on why Labour are not socialist - and that they're closer to the likes of Reform than they are us!
That's why organisations such as the Workers Party of Britain are so important! We exactly are the anti-establishment force needed in British politics, the difference is that we are genuine! We are against and want to deconstruct the capitalist ruling class in favour of a common sense socialist government that simply puts people before profit. One thing you'll never catch the likes of Farage as being against is imperialism, because they're fundamentally not for anything different.

Starmer's approval rating plummeted almost immediately in comparison to other recent prime ministers such as Sunak or Brown who were not elected by the public, even they had a lengthier spell of popularity and never fell as low or as sharply as Starmer has.
He only has himself to blame for this. He has broken every single pledge he made during the 2024 General Election campaign, on top of that he has stolen the winter fuel allowance from our pensioners, maintained the two child benefit cap, is trying to destroy our farmers and farming in order to sell the land off to billionaires and multinational corporations as has been done in Europe, has backed the ongoing genocide in Gaza, has brought Britain into direct conflict with Russia by authorising use of British made weapons in Russian territory, has made further crippling cuts to sickness benefits, threatening to cut benefits of the long term sick who refuse to work even if they cannot do so, has betray the P&O workers after initially backing them, is pushing forward with the relentless march to Net Zero and is now creating slums on the green belt to meet their unrealistic housing targets.
Starmer is a red tory prime minister, leading a red tory party and government and is merely a continuation of the last 14 years of blue tory austerity, is pursuing a neoliberal, capitalist, anti-worker, pro-free market agenda that is harmful to the poorest and most vulnerable in our society.

Today No2Nato has been censored on Twitter/X for sharing the Workers Party Emergency Broadcast by Party Leader George Galloway on Tuesday. This broadcast dealt first and foremost with the Labour government's drive to war with the Russian Federation in an attempt to scupper an American brokered peace settlement.
Labour politicians this week have been pushing for conscription, the deployment of British troops to Ukraine and Prime Minister Keir Starmer has firmly committed Britain to continued assistance of Zelensky's Ukraine.

COMPANIES TO CUT STAFF
Doing lefty sounding things and to hell with the predictable consequences - what would we call a government that does that? A sham and a failure that's what! Labour's increase of national insurance (a lefty sounding thing) is leading to the private sector cutting staff (the predictable consequence) according to a PMI survey.
What is Labour's reaction? To double down that's what! No countermeasure, no strategy to mitigate the problem, only stubborn repetition. Chancellor Rachel "Thatcher" Reeves said that it is required to repair battered public services and fill a “black hole” in the public finances left by the previous Conservative government. - it's the same old script! They need to implement ill thought out ideas because the previous lot implemented ill thought out ideas!
What might be nice is if British industry was revitalised, if publicly-owned core sectors of the economy were owned so that profits could be reaped and reinvested into our society! It might be nice if less tinkering was done and more targeted taxation of the rich was done to bring in revenue....but in clear efforts to stay true to the neoliberal Thatcher spirit which has permanently reanimated Labour it is business and private sector first before people and society!

Royal Mail, Britain's postal service and one of our essential utilities which was sold off for a quarter of what it was worth and privatised by the then Business Secretary Vince Cable of the ConDem Coalition government in 2013, has now fallen even further down the privatisation rabbit hole and is now owned by a foreign billionaire and has been approved by this misnamed Labour government.
It is a travesty that successive governments since the 1980's have without the consent of the British people have broken up and sold off our essential utilities and industries, many of them now owned by foreign individuals, entities or even in some cases governments. This is the reality of neoliberal, globalised capitalism and globalisation, utilities, services and industries ran for profit and not for the people and are considerably less efficient than they ever were under public ownership and state regulation.
We in the Workers Party of Britain demand that all of our essential utilities and industries are brought back into public ownership where they belong.
