FAFO😆: New Zealand’s high commissioner to the UK has been fired after questioning US President Donald Trump’s grasp of history at an event in London.

Speaking at international think tank Chatham House on Tuesday, Phil Goff, the former mayor of the city of Auckland who has also served as foreign minister, said: “I was re-reading Churchill’s speech to the House of Commons in 1938 after the Munich Agreement, and he turned to Chamberlain, he said, ‘You had the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, yet you will have war.’”

“President Trump has restored the bust of Churchill to the Oval Office,” added Goff. “But do you think he really understands history?”

Goff was making a comparison between Trump’s efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, and the 1938 agreement signed by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and the leaders of France and Germany which gave Adolf Hitler permission to annex part of Czechoslovakia. The Nazi leader invaded Poland a year later, triggering World War II.

ICYMI🔥: A border wall upgrade construction project canceled by President Joe Biden is back underway in the Texas Rio Grande Valley.

U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks announced that the Trump administration ordered the restart of a Biden-era-canceled border wall upgrade project along the Texas border with Mexico.

Banks reported that the project will replace six-foot guard rails with 18-foot bollard panels. They are designed to “provide impedance and denial capabilities” to illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico into Texas.

A federal judge denied a request on Thursday from USAID contractors to issue a temporary restraining order blocking the mass termination of their contracts.

The Personal Service Contractor Association, an advocacy group for U.S. personal services contractors employed by USAID, filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration last month after the secretary of state issued a stop-work order for all foreign assistance and contracts.

The contractors alleged the stop-work order prevented the association's members from carrying out work for "which their positions were created and exist by law and from overseeing often lifesaving humanitarian relief."

A German court on Thursday convicted five people of plotting to overthrow the government in a ‘FaR-RiGhT’ coup, and kidnap the former health minister.

The Koblenz Higher Regional Court sentenced the four ringleaders to prison sentences between five years and nine months to eight years. A fifth defendant received a sentence of two years and 10 months, German news agency dpa reported.

The defendants, four men aged 46 to 58 and a 77-year-old woman, were accused of founding or being a member of a terrorist organization called “United Patriots” and of preparing a highly treasonous enterprise against the German government.

The Kremlin rolled out its team of talking heads on Thursday morning to pour scorn on French President Macron, accusing him of everything from duplicity, nuclear sabre-rattling, bad manners, and even being the living embodiment of both Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler at the same time.

French President Emmanuel Macron addressed his nation and the world on Wednesday evening to lay out his vision of Europe taking up the slack in supporting Ukraine and taking responsibility for its own defence. While President Donald Trump is committed to bringing peace to Europe, the continent, at least not being totally reliant on American taxpayers for its own defence, has also been a key part of his agenda and may well be positively received in Washington.

The U.S. Marshals Service is providing security to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an email seen by Reuters on Wednesday showed, in what sources described as an unusual arrangement. (…he’s a Kennedy ffs)

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi called for the American Bar Association to immediately repeal its law school diversity rule and scrap a planned revision of that standard in a letter to the ABA on Wednesday by a U.S. Justice Department official.

Bondi's letter also warned that the ABA's authority as the government-sanctioned accreditor of U.S. law schools—a position it has held since 1952—can be revoked.

Bondi said that the ABA’s Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admission to the Bar has for years subjected law professors and their students to "unlawful race and sex discrimination under the guise of ‘diversity’ mandates."

JUST IN: The House Judiciary Committee on Thursday subpoenaed Alphabet, the parent company of Google and YouTube, according to documents viewed by Semafor — the latest escalation of Republican attempts to investigate alleged bias in the tech industry.

The subpoena sent by Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, seeks communications from or regarding the executive branch and stems from conservatives’ long-running concerns that the Biden administration “coerced or colluded with companies and other intermediaries to censor lawful speech.”

“To develop effective legislation, such as the possible enactment of new statutory limits on the executive branch’s ability to work with Big Tech to restrict the circulation of content and deplatform users, the Committee must first understand” the scope of the Biden administration’s contacts with tech companies on the issue, Jordan wrote to Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai on Thursday.

🔥Alec Baldwin’s ‘shameless’ reality show, attempt to rebrand bombs: experts

Alec Baldwin’s TLC reality show, "The Baldwins," with his wife, Hilaria, and their seven children, has been met with scathing reviews in the press, and now the legal team for Halyna Hutchins’ family.

Gloria Allred, who is representing Hutchins' parents, Olga Solovey and Anatolii Androsovych, and her sister, Svetlana Zemko, filed a notice of deposition for Baldwin in the family’s wrongful death lawsuit against the actor after the death of Hutchins on the set of "Rust" in 2021.

"The Baldwin reality show at once celebrates Mr. Baldwin’s joy of being with his children while ignoring the fact that Alec Baldwin took a child away from her parents. That is the painful and actual reality with which Halyna’s parents and sister live each and every day," Allred said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

The statement continued, saying Baldwin "never called or tried to contact her parents or sister to say that he was sorry, and to this day he has never taken responsibility for Halyna’s death."

"As though it is not enough that Alec Baldwin killed their daughter, and that he was not held accountable in the criminal case because the case was dismissed with prejudice by the court before the jury could decide if he was guilty or not, now Alec Baldwin has compounded the pain of Halyna’s parents and sister by taking advantage of his increased fame and notoriety by monetizing it in a TLC reality show, where he takes on the role of victim after he shot and killed Halyna Hutchins on the set of ‘Rust.’"

Allred criticized Hilaria’s claim that Baldwin had "PTSD" from the incident.

New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams is running for mayor, making a late entrance into the Democratic primary to unseat indicted Mayor Eric Adams.

Her decision stands to shake up the race as her traditional base of support overlaps with that of the two scandal-scarred executives headlining the contest: Mayor Adams and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

“New Yorkers can’t afford to live here, City Hall is in chaos, and Donald Trump is corrupting our city’s independence. It’s time to stand up,” Speaker Adams said in a statement.

She’s expected to begin petitioning for ballot access immediately, according to a person familiar with her plans who was granted anonymity to discuss private conversations. She is also planning to hold a campaign rally Saturday in her home borough of Queens.

The fired head of a federal watchdog agency on Thursday said he was ending his legal battle over President Trump's decision to remove him from office after a federal appeals court cleared the way for him to do so.

Hampton Dellinger, who had headed the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, in a statement said he was ending his lawsuit in light of Wednesday's court ruling, saying the odds of him ultimately prevailing before the U.S. Supreme Court were long.

Dellinger's case had previously reached the U.S. Supreme Court, becoming the first legal battle involving Trump's actions to come before the top U.S. judicial body since his return to the presidency in January.

Elon Musk wants to privatize the United States’ Postal Service and Amtrak, he said on Wednesday.

It’s “kind of embarrassing” how other countries have “way better passenger rail than we do,” like China’s bullet trains, Musk said during a virtual appearance at a Morgan Stanley tech conference.

“Amtrak is a sad situation,” he said. “It’s like, if you’re coming from another country, please don’t use our national rail. It can leave you with a very bad impression of America.”

The Tesla and SpaceX billionaire, who is also the face of the Trump administration’s cost-cutting agency, said “we should privatize anything that can be privatized.”

“You’ve got a feedback loop for improvement, is what happens when something’s privatized,” Musk said. “Basically something’s got to have some chance of going bankrupt or there’s not a good feedback loop for improvement.”

Yet he acknowledged that “a bunch of these things require actions for Congress.”

BREAKING: A federal judge on Thursday issued a nationwide injunction blocking the Trump administration from freezing federal funding without going through Congress -- offering a scathing critique of what he said was the White House's attempt to disrupt the separation of powers.

The order prohibits the Trump administration from "reissuing, adopting, implementing, giving effect to, or reinstating under a different name" a short-lived directive issued by the Office of Management and Budget that froze billions in funds.

"The Executive's categorical freeze of appropriated and obligated funds fundamentally undermines the distinct constitutional roles of each branch of our government," U.S. District Judge John McConnell wrote. "The interaction of the three co-equal branches of government is an intricate, delicate, and sophisticated balance -- but it is crucial to our form of constitutional governance. Here, the Executive put itself above Congress."

UPDATE: The White House has pulled Thursday's signing of the executive order to dismantle the Department of Education, multiple sources told ABC News.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt quoted a news report saying it was "fake news" that Trump was expected to sign the order Thursday. She said he is not signing it.

Behind the scenes, there was concern among top administration officials about the blowback the order would receive and the lack of messaging in place ahead of the rollout.

Specially, how the administration would answer questions about how the EO would impact the school lunch program along with other programs that could no longer exist.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence says that it is working on fulfilling a directive from Congress to produce a public report exposing the corruption and wealth of senior Chinese Communist Party officials following the Biden administration’s failure to release it.

In the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act, Congress directed the Director of National Intelligence in cooperation with the State Department to produce the report on senior CCP officials, including Chairman Xi Jinping, but the Biden administration officials failed to meet the deadline established by lawmakers, Just the News reported last week.

The ODNI, now under the leadership of DNI Tulsi Gabbard, says that it is currently working to fulfill the directive from Congress in response to an inquiry from Just the News and renewed congressional pressure last week.

The report would serve as a powerful tool to confront the communist regime, experts say.

Los Angeles County is suing Southern California Edison over the Eaton Fire, which killed 17 people in January.

The cause of the blaze that was one of California's most destructive wildfires on record remains under investigation, but LA County alleges in a lawsuit there's "clear evidence" from images and witness statements that SCE's equipment was responsible for it.

It's one of several lawsuits the utility faces over the Eaton Fire. The cities of Pasadena and Sierra Madre also announced suits against SCE.
