The energy you surround yourself with doesn’t just shape your thoughts—it seeps into your body, your mind, your entire well-being. You can eat the healthiest foods, drink all the water, and get enough sleep, but if you’re constantly around negativity, stress, and toxic people, it will still drain you. Energy isn’t just a feeling; it’s a force. It either nourishes you or depletes you, and over time, it can take a serious toll on your health.
Have you ever noticed how being around certain people makes you feel exhausted, even if you haven’t done anything physically demanding? That’s not just in your head. Emotional stress weakens your immune system, messes with your nervous system, and even affects your digestion. Your body absorbs the energy around it, whether it’s uplifting or destructive. Being around chaos, drama, or constant criticism doesn’t just hurt your mood—it wears you down on a deeper level.
But the same is true for positive energy. When you’re in spaces that feel safe, surrounded by people who uplift you, your body responds. You breathe easier. Your mind feels clearer. Your stress levels drop. Healing isn’t just about medicine or self-care routines—it’s also about who and what you allow into your space.
This is why protecting your energy is an act of self-preservation. It’s why setting boundaries isn’t selfish; it’s necessary. You don’t have to tolerate environments that make you feel heavy, anxious, or unseen. You don’t have to keep entertaining people who drain your spirit. You owe it to yourself to choose peace, to surround yourself with energy that adds to your life instead of taking from it.
So ask yourself: Is the energy around you feeding your growth or slowly breaking you down?

Ikigai (ee-key-guy) is a Japanese concept that combines the terms iki, meaning “alive” or “life,” and gai, meaning “benefit” or “worth.”
The Japanese concept of ikigai dates back to the Heian period, between 794 to 1185.
It’s what brings you joy and inspires you to get out of bed every day. Some say it gives them another reason to live and leads to a more fulfilling life.
What to do when you don't know where to start:
•Experiment with new activities.
•Reflect on past experiences.
•Ask for feedback from others.
•Pay attention to what energizes you.
•Develop new skills through workshops.
•Follow your curiosity and explore.
•Reflect on what you dislike.
•Volunteer or try side projects.
•Be patient and kind to yourself.
Ikigai is a lifelong journey, not a destination. It’s about growth, contribution, and finding joy in the moment.
