Delegations from 35 countries and the Council of Europe have arrived in Lviv, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visit began with a tribute at Lychakiv Cemetery to honor Ukrainian heroes who gave their lives defending the country from Russian aggression.
“Two other important events lie ahead: a meeting of EU foreign ministers and a session of the Core Group on establishing a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine,” stated Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also held a bilateral meeting with European Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas.
“We discussed a wide range of issues, including the frontline situation and Ukraine’s defense needs. We are grateful for the initiative to allocate €1 billion to support Ukraine’s defense industry, as well as the proposal to increase military aid in 2025.
We hope the provisions of the new SAFE instrument will be approved soon, enabling Ukraine to participate in joint procurement of defense products both on the European market and directly from Ukrainian producers.
We also addressed the issue of sanctions against Russia. We expect swift approval of the 17th sanctions package and call for increased pressure on the aggressor to move toward peace. In addition, we look forward to continued efforts on the confiscation of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s recovery needs.
I thank Kaja Kallas for her personal contribution to supporting Ukraine. We value the European Union’s solidarity during this challenging time,” Shmyhal stated.

❗️SBU Uncovers Hungarian Military Intelligence Network Operating in Ukraine
For the first time in Ukraine’s history, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has exposed a Hungarian military intelligence network engaged in espionage activities against the state.
The network’s mission was to gather intelligence on the military security of the Transcarpathian region, identify vulnerabilities in the area's ground and air defense systems, and assess the socio-political attitudes of local residents—specifically, their potential responses in the event of a Hungarian military incursion.
As part of a comprehensive operation in Transcarpathia, the SBU detained two agents linked to the Hungarian intelligence network. Both were under the supervision of a Hungarian military intelligence officer, whose identity has also been established.
The detainees have been formally charged with treason and are currently in custody. If convicted, they face life imprisonment.

President Zelenskyy: I had a productive conversation with President Trump. We congratulated our nations on Victory in Europe Day—the day marking the defeat of Nazism.
We welcomed the Verkhovna Rada’s ratification of the Economic Partnership Agreement, a truly historic document that opens up significant new opportunities for cooperation.
We discussed the need for further steps toward peace, including concrete measures that can be taken. President Trump inquired about the situation on the battlefield, and I provided a brief overview. He also noted that Ukraine is prepared to implement a 30-day ceasefire starting today. We expect Russia to accept this proposal. I reiterated that Ukraine remains ready for negotiations in any format. However, Russia must demonstrate genuine intent to end the war, beginning with a full and unconditional ceasefire.
President Trump reaffirmed his desire to see this war ended, expressed readiness to assist, and voiced support for the ceasefire initiative. We agreed to maintain ongoing communication.
