DAILY REFLECTION
Tuesday 25th February 2025
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
2 Corinthians 4:7 KJV
Pause for Reflection
Our mortal bodies are made from the dust of the earth and for the duration of our earthly life we live in frail, feeble, perishing bodies, which are decaying and dying.
God has taken those apparently useless, insignificant human forms and poured into them a revelation of the glorious gospel of His only begotten Son.
Our bodies are indeed earthen vessels, but the treasure that has taken up residence within the Believer’s mortal frame, is the beautiful Spirit of Christ Jesus our Lord.
Prayer
Thank You, Father, I am not worthy to have received the new, resurrected life of Christ in this earthen vessel. Nor am I worthy to have the indwelling Holy Spirit in my heart to lead and guide me. But thank You that in Your grace, I have this wonderful treasure in my earthly body. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.”
Mark 14:27 KJV
Pause for Reflection
Jesus cites Zechariah 13:7 in reference to His arrest, and the falling away and scattering of His disciples.
God’s command to “strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter” is multi-purposed, it reveals that Christ’s death was not an accident; it was part of God’s divinely arranged plan.
Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but He died for sinners to bring us safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but He was raised to life in the Spirit.
Prayer
Loving Father and Almighty God, I am humbled by the incredible and sacrificial love your Son demonstrated for me and all Believers. I appreciate all that Jesus did for us. Thank You for such incredible grace. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

“And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.”
Jeremiah 18:4 KJV
Pause for Reflection
The artistry and skills the potter uses to shape, mould, form and complete whatever vessel in his wisdom he chooses to make.
If the clay in the hands of the potter gets ruined in the process, he refashions it into another vessel, a good vessel, that seems right to him.
We are like that clay that has been taken up by our Heavenly Potter to be fashioned and formed as He thinks best. We are the clay in the hands of our Father Who is shaping, moulding, forming, and completing us into the person He wants us to be, a vessel fit for His use.
Prayer
Loving Father, Thank You that You are forming me into the person You want me to be. Help me to lie willingly in Your hands, for I trust You to form me into the vessel that You want me to be, to Your praise and glory, AMEN.

Pause for Reflection
As God's children who are saved by grace through faith in Christ, we must submit ourselves only to God.
Submitting ourselves to God and walking in the Spirit; satan can never have authority over us; we can consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Jesus our Lord.
But one very important exhortation is: "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." In order to overcome the temptations of the enemy, we are simply instructed to resist; resist the devil, resist the temptation, resist the sin, resist the evil.
Prayer
Thank You, Heavenly Father, that I am no longer under the domain of Satan but am a child of God who is under grace and not under the Law. I pray that I may walk in spirit and truth to Your praise and honour. In Your power, I pray that I will resist the influences of the world, the flesh, and the devil. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
