European Union countries plan to suspend their sanctions imposed on Syria on Monday, which target the banking, energy, and transport sectors.

According to AFP, diplomats in Brussels confirmed today that the 27 foreign ministers meeting in the Belgian capital on Monday will make an official decision on this matter after a preliminary agreement was reached during their previous meeting in January.

Southern Citizens Call for “Day of Return” to Reclaim Land from Israeli Occupation

Citizens of occupied border villages called for a “Day of Return” on Tuesday to reclaim the remaining parts of their land from Israeli occupation. They have urged people from all regions of Lebanon to join the movement and head to the borders to reclaim the land.

The citizens, in their “Return - 4” call, condemned the Israeli delays in withdrawing from occupied villages under clear US support, highlighting Israel’s attempts to extend their occupation beyond the agreed deadline. Despite signaling an eventual withdrawal, Israel has been constructing military sites on five hills in the region, undermining any potential withdrawal.

The citizens stated: “ How would they stay while their presence threatens all of Lebanon, from its airports to its valleys, to its northern borders, to every point through its ongoing airstrikes.”

The Progressive Socialist Party:

- The actions witnessed in the past two days, including road blockages, are unacceptable and unjustified, regardless of the reasons. These actions do not serve the necessary progress for the country.

- The new phase that began with the election of the president and the formation of the new government requires effective and positive contributions from everyone to give the country and its citizens the opportunity they deserve.

- We urge all political forces to take responsibility for ensuring internal stability, preventing disruption of security, and giving the country the time it needs for recovery and reconstruction.
