The USAID funding exposure has revealed that, in order to even exist, almost everything we hate required billions upon billions of dollars in taxpayer money stolen from American citizens. These homesteaders say that breed is a consideration for maintaining a small herd, but much less so if you just want 2 to raise for beef, and not for breeding.

Heating with Wood Series

A couple of years ago, I did a series of posts on Heating with Wood on the Homestead. I'm now adding the chainsaw chain sharpener that we started using last year.

Husband reports that it is really quick and easy to use. Also that having a sharp chain makes cutting wood significantly faster and that a sharp chain is less stress on the machine.

Cutting Wood Series: Safety Gear

Chainsaw pants AND gloves instantly stop a chainsaw blade. The pants are affordable and, if they don't save your life, they'll save you from a serious, expensive, and lifelong injury or disability. Husband reports they're not overly cumbersome and doesn't mind wearing them. (links below)

A face shield, helmet, and ear protection are obvious. I had to wear an eye patch once. I don't recommend it 😜 (link below)

A friend sent me info on the linked 1 Hand Tourniquet. He always carries it in his pocket when he's cutting wood. I just bought one for my husband's pocket. (link below)

Causes of Headaches and Alternative Treatments

1. Impacted ear wax.

I was in my 30s when something changed in my ear so that my ears did not expel ear wax. This is not an uncommon issue.

I had "ear irrigation" done several times at medical facilities. One time, they used the linked tool to do it. I didn't realize that this was something you could buy at home and do yourself. I bought the linked product 10 years ago. I see that there are less expensive options.

When my ears are impacted, I will get a splitting headache.

2. Night time teeth clenching

You can get a mouthguard right at the drug store. You can find ones which are relatively thin (not at all like an athletic mouthgard), which you fit to your mouth through a simple two step process of softening it in boiling water and then biting into it.

3. Bad dental work. If you have had crowns or other work done which can effect your bite, make sure you double and even triple check your bite with the blue chalked papers that are used for this at the dentist. Make sure to really grind away in all directions on those to make sure that your bite is exactly perfect. Even a tiny, almost imperceptible, misalignment can cause a headache over time.

4. Hormonal fluctuation for women
I have found essential oil roller bottles of Clary Sage and a Progesterone related essential oil (like Young Living's Progessence) are helpful.

There are many other common causes of headaches like too much sugar and dehydration. I just wanted to share a few of the lesser known causes that are the usual culprits in my frequent headaches in order to help people avoid toxifying their body with ibuprofen trying to rid themselves of pain.
