Estonia has closed its airspace to foreign representatives flying to Moscow for the 80th anniversary of Victory Day on May 9, stated Estonian Foreign Minister
Earlier reports indicated that Lithuania and Latvia closed their airspace to the plane of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who was traveling to Moscow for the Victory Day parade despite warnings from EU officials.

Today the liberation of Nazi Germany is commemorated in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, only a small part of the Netherlands was in the resistance and that was mainly in the west, Amsterdam and Rotterdam and den Haag, were many heroes of resistance were murdered. The East of the Netherlands collaborated with the Nazis for 90%. Rotterdam, my birth-town, was largely in the resistance and was bombed by the Germans on 14 May 1940. The city centre was in ruins and some of my ancestors (grandparents) lost family members. In the hunger winter of 1944-1945, Rotterdam together with The Hague were hit the hardest; parallels can be drawn with Leningrad (Saint Petersburg). More than twenty thousand people died of hunger and cold. The Germans kept the city under siege and food was not sent into the city. The west of the Netherlands and Rotterdam were not liberated until 5 May 1945, while the east of the Netherlands (the collaborators) had long been free due to the battle of Arnhem in 1944.
