Looks like TONs were needed, probably for gifts on Telegram. 😁 They rushed to the rescue, and the revenue came to nearly 7,000 TON. Now HMSTR’s liquidity is down to just $5,000. Today’s deck in Cattea is tough. Honestly, I haven’t passed it yet. There’s some interesting news piling up—I’ll publish it and then focus on completing the deck. But I’ve broken down a strategy for you. There are very few spare cards, and the deck’s leg is quite thin. Ideally, you want to get the deck to look like the second screenshot, but that’s very tricky—you’ll likely need to heavily break down the blue zones by that point. I highlighted the lower part of the blue zone in the second screenshot; it’s not visible at the start of the game.

Well, I’ve completed another deck. Here’s a clever trick for you: don’t touch the top row until you’ve cleared the deck down to the leg. Yes, the top part covers part of the leg, but that’s not a big deal, and this way you get more spare cards. In the end, the deck clears pretty easily, and you might not even need hints.

Well, this isn’t serious after yesterday’s deck. Today, everything clears without any issues. The strategy is obvious right from the start of the game. I didn’t even bother messing around in Photoshop to detail the color zones thoroughly. Save the bottom two rows of the main field, and clear the rest however you like. I passed on the first try—didn’t even need hints.

While we wait for all this, I want to complain about the Electric Purple background. What the hell? Why does the stuff I need on this background cost as much as a Boeing wing, while the same items on other backgrounds are sold for dirt cheap? It’s just a basic, unremarkable background. It doesn’t even resemble onyx or black. I’ll blink, and the prices better drop already. Many gifts on this background are limited to just a few pieces, so there’s not much to choose from—you just have to sit and stare at what you need at an outrageous price.

New bullish news for crypto: Apple is easing rules for the crypto industry. App developers can now accept payments bypassing Apple, following a court ruling in the Epic Games case.

"The Court finds Apple in willful violation of this Court’s 2021 Injunction, which was issued to restrain and prohibit Apple’s anticompetitive conduct and anticompetitive pricing. Apple’s continued attempts to interfere with competition will not be tolerated," US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers stated in an April 30 court filing.

It was clear this would happen sooner or later, but it happened now. It’s amusing to see Durov celebrating this outcome, while Telegram itself has banned everything in its messenger except TON and stars.

People are asking why even sell gifts for stars and what to do with them afterward. Well, what do you do? Spend them on other nonsense. It all stays in the family. Money should flow into Telegram, not out of it. I’m sure that after this update, mini-apps will be banned from trading TON altogether. They’ll completely kick TON out of the messenger and remove the Wallet tab. It’s a stillborn side project made by a third-party team. You do remember that Pavel Durov has nothing to do with it, right? I think he’s completely fed up with this TON by now.

I read the Telegram blog and came across some interesting information about account freezing:

Thanks to reliable moderation tools and user reports, Telegram quickly identifies and blocks those who attempt to send fraudulent or spam messages. While errors in these systems are extremely rare, users who do encounter an erroneous block can now appeal it without leaving Telegram.

In the case of a block for violations, the account is no longer immediately disabled but frozen—its owner can no longer communicate with other users but can appeal the block by submitting a request for review to our moderators. If no violations are found, the account will be unfrozen, and the restrictions will be lifted.

When an unfamiliar user messages you for the first time, a button appears at the top of the chat, allowing you to instantly block them and report their messages to moderators.

Nicely written, but too bad it’s not true. Are these moderators of yours here with us in Telegram? All bans are issued automatically; no humans are involved at all. Bans are lifted automatically too. Have you ever tried contacting support? There are supposed to be some volunteers there, but I’m pretty sure they don’t even exist.

I’ve encountered multiple instances where an account got banned for spam. Sure, back then there wasn’t account freezing, but I doubt much has changed. Any user can just hit the “Block and Report” button if you message them first—like if you ask whether they’d sell a damn hat with a heart on my background, or even if you’re sending gifts to giveaway winners. One press of the button, and the virtual moderators instantly deem the report valid, sending the account straight to a ban.

And the phrase about errors being “extremely rare” sounds like mockery. Essentially, messaging an unfamiliar user is automatically treated as a violation. Did you bother someone with your gifts? Off to the ban you go. The saddest part is that actual spammers don’t care—they have an army of bots, and their soldiers die regularly, only to be immediately replaced by new ones. Meanwhile, real users are walking through a minefield. Considering that profiles themselves often cost a lot of money now, it’d be nice if users were somehow protected from bans and deletions without due process.

Has anyone already dealt with the new freezing and appeal process? Are there real people involved, or is it still just button-pressing like “I admit guilt,” “I didn’t violate anything,” or “My cat ran across the keyboard”?

The mechanics of Tonnel and MRKT create opportunities for scammers. Be cautious—screenshots show users posing as Gift Relayer and MRKT Bank. These are scams; their names are very similar to the originals, and Telegram often ranks them higher than the real official bots in search results. If you mistakenly send your gifts to these bots, you’ll lose them forever. The correct usernames for the bots to send gifts to are:

MRKT: @mrktbank

Interestingly, I have an old conversation with one of these scam bots about buying traffic. It seems the founders of an ancient tap game repurposed their profile to scam users. It’s a shame the conversation doesn’t mention the tap game’s name—heroes like that should be exposed.

I read the news—what a load of nonsense, it’s just embarrassing to post stuff like this. Someone’s hunting for NotWise owls, someone’s trying to play with those damn penguins. Everywhere I look, it’s all just rubbish. Even when I check my own profile, there’s rubbish too, but with a little heart.

Nothing interesting. All that’s left is to wait for the ability to trade gifts directly from your profile. Yes, the commission looks surreal. Yes, selling for stars, which you’ll need to exchange for TON with yet another commission. But still, the news is bullish. Now every housewife will be able to sell her little pictures without registration or SMS. It’ll be an interesting time—surely we’ll be able to snag something we need at a low price.

I see yet another mini-app for selling stickers has popped up. And it immediately raises the question: why did we decide that scammy Sanya’s stickers would suddenly become official on Telegram? Turns out any programmer can whip up a sticker-selling app in a couple of evenings with a case of beer. And then what? Plus, let’s be real—the quality of these stickers is nowhere near Telegram’s official gifts.

Maybe this was all just another scam, and the “real” stickers will be announced by Pavel Durov whenever he feels like it? Why would he need some Sanya? They’ll make their own beautiful, chat-friendly stickers, not this ad-filled garbage.

But meanwhile, Sanya’s got the cash, some jerks got their ads, and we’re left with dumb penguin, NotPixel, and wrestler stickers.

Cringe of the day: A leak of skins for the Sailor Moon gift. Is this supposed to be your most expensive gift? 🤡 They might have leaked it on purpose to gauge the community’s reaction. Obviously, it turned out to be some monotonous nonsense. Back during the Pepe upgrade, this might have passed, but now we’ve moved on to diverse models and animations.

Sailor Moon is honestly my pain and sorrow. I don’t have a single one of these gifts, even though I collect ones with hearts. It just so happens that Sailor Moons are entirely made up of those damn hearts. It’s going to be an expensive endeavor.

And here’s another interesting piece of news about gifts: now the numbering of opened gifts will start from the end. This was done to increase the difficulty of getting the first numbers. Honestly, it’s a weird approach. I suspect this means we might never see a gift with the number 1. But on the other hand, who cares about that number? The last thing I pay attention to with gifts is the number. Seriously, do you really need some shabby gift on a default background just because it’s number 1?

Forbes is now writing about the little frog Pepe.

Pavel Durov received 14,850 TON as a digital gift in Telegram, equivalent to $47,000. Virtual gifts Plush Pepe #1 and Biznesmen were sent by Mr FreeMan, the owner of an OTC marketplace for gifts on Telegram.

What a great article—good for Pasha Durov, who now has a new beautiful Pepe, and for Mr. FreeMan, since getting into Forbes didn’t cost him too much. It’s also good for Telegram itself; it creates the illusion that even our shabby Pepes might be bought up by some millionaires, philanthropists, and playboys. Of course, only to be shipped off to Pavel’s warehouse.

But something tells me this whole story is staged from start to finish. They only spent money on the article in such a respected publication; everything else is just a cozy little arrangement and a deal among friends.
