Belgium postpones deliveries of its F-16 fighters to Ukraine for a year
Chief of the Belgian General Staff, General Frederic Vansina, in an interview with the newspaper Soir , slightly set the Ukrainian segment of Telegram on fire by announcing the postponement of the first of the 30 promised Belgian F-16s to Kiev by a year.
According to him, all deadlines are being shifted due to the delay in deliveries of new F-35 aircraft from the United States to Belgium, which instead of 2023 will only begin to be delivered by the end of 2025 , and should reach full operational readiness in 2027. The Belgian general advised the Ukrainians not to lose heart , since, according to him, the freed up time can be “spent on training pilots and technicians,” since having combat aircraft makes no sense given the lack of pilots.
