When the peasants keep talking about "hustle culture" and the "daily grind" but you're on your way to collect inheritance.

Western Hunter-Gatherers exhibited predominantly brachycephalic skulls with robust cranial features. They typically had strong mandibles and wide zygomatic arches, as seen with various WHGs like Loschbour Man (8,000 years ago, Luxembourg), Villabruna Man (~14,000 years ago, Italy) and OST001 (~5,825 years ago, Germany).

Similarly, other skeletal remains of Western Hunter-Gatherers such as La Braña 1 (~7,000 years ago, Spain) and the aforementioned Loschbour Man show that they had a wide nasal aperture and robust cranial morphology.

WHGs generally expressed cranial capacities around 1,500-1,600cm³, like Loschbour Man, who stood 5'3" (~160cm) tall and had a tanned to light olive skin complexion with blue eyes. Compared to the Anatolian Neolithic Farmers and Western Steppe Herders, the Western Hunter-Gatherers had the largest and widest skulls of all three populations ancestral to modern Europeans.

This comes from the Icelandic rune poem manuscript AM 687d 4, making it one of the oldest presentations of Icelandic rune poems. An interesting note on the the line o er alldingautr ok asgardz iofjur ok vjalhallar visi Jupiter Oddviti is that the word Oddviti is used to mean Emperor in the same sense of the archaic Roman term Imperator.

This poem highlights Óðinn's position as king of the Gods and ruler of Ásgarðr where the Gods dwell. In ancient Rome, Jupiter was also viewed as the literal king of Rome and head of state, making this rune poem an insightful look at how Óðinn was (and therefore is) perceived as an emperor-like figure from a Norse perspective.
The illustrations created by Ryan Murray depicting Óðinn in 15th-century European clothing were inspired by this 15th-century detail of a poor man being given alms by a wealthy nobleman and friend.

Using new technology, forensic scientists, speech and language experts, and even dentists collaborated to reproduce what they believe King Richard III (1452-1485) would have sounded like. Richard III would have spoken with a distinct medieval Yorkshire accent, which is most accurately portrayed in this new 3D rendering of his avatar.

Óðinn Worship in Christian Iceland

-Iceland's Conversion
-Óðinn in Sturlunga Saga

Belief and worship of the Norse Gods did not cease with the Christianisation of Iceland. The background of Iceland's official conversion to Christianity coupled with the Sturlunga Saga gives us an interesting insight into the way Óðinn was mentioned in written sources as late as the 13th century.

Wisdom from Óðinn on travelling and being well-travelled. Alternate translations of verse 18 of Hávamál include:

"A man must go to many places and travel widely in the world before he is wise enough to see the workings of other men's minds."

"Only he who has been many places and seen many things knows how to judge the people he meets if he himself isn't dull-witted."

Neolithic Europe Was NOT Peaceful by Dan Davis.
The inner nature of Búi Andríðsson in the Kjalnesinga Saga and otherworldly interactions in Jǫkuls þáttr Búasonar.

The Kjalnesinga Saga is a significant tale in the corpus of medieval Icelandic literature preserved in a parchment manuscript AM 471 4to. The saga follows the life of Búi Andríðsson, his wife Fríðr and his son Jǫkull Búason. Búi was the son of Andríð, an Irish Christian Icelandic settler who built a town called Brautarholt with a large estate. Andríð married a Norse woman, Úríður, and together they had Búi.

Búi’s description is that hann var meiri ok sterkari en aðrrir men ok fríðari at sjá (‘he was greater and stronger than other men, and fair to see’). However, there was another side to Búi which set him apart from his contemporaries — a side that would eventually result in his outlawry at the age of twelve, followed by a quest which would see him brush shoulders with legendary warriors and famous kings like Harald Fairhair.

This petition is worth signing for the preservation and continuation of European culture and history.

The Norrbotniabanan railway is planned to be built, and archaeological sites along the route have been examined. A 3,500-year-old burial cairn may now be removed to make way for the railway.

This petition will be sent to the Västerbotten County Administrative Board and the Swedish Transport Administration in the hope of stopping this desecration of our shared cultural heritage.

The career of Pompey in the Late Roman Republic.

Pompey rose to prominence serving Sulla in the first major Roman civil war, defeating the forces of Marius in Africa at twenty-three years old. For this he earned, or was mocked with, the title of Magnus (‘the Great’). While still a private citizen, he was given propraetorian imperium (the right to command an army). Involved in only a short time in Roman civil affairs, Pompey quickly learned the political power of an army behind him. After Sulla, and despite having no experience as a Roman magistrate, he coerced a command in Spain against the rebel Sertorius, simply through fear of his legions. While the war was not exactly a clear cut victory for Pompey as the opposing army was only defeated after Sertorius was murdered, Pompey returned to Rome in triumph.

One analogy that I’ve come to love is how that the Gods out of chaos had established a perfect order. This order is akin to much like a garden and the higher powers being the gardeners. They pluck and keep clean the various plants and vegetables that grow in this garden, they straighten the rows and pluck out the weeds that seek to consume the nutrients the plants desperately need in order to survive.

The Gods are grand gardeners.

I believe my friend TheChadPastoralist ought to be credited with this analogy
Gera ok Freka seðr gunntamiðr hróðigr Herjafǫðr; en við vín eitt vápngǫfugr Óðinn æ lifir.

"Battle-trained, glorious Herjafǫðr feeds Geri and Freki; but on wine alone weapon-noble Óðinn always lives."

Odin as Jupiter

A page from an Icelandic rune poem manuscript AM 687d 4, which constitutes one of the oldest presentations of Icelandic rune poems. The relevant word of interest is highlighted in red and the poem says: o er alldingautr ok asgardz iofjur ok vjalhallar visi Jupiter Oddviti.

In English it means: "Oss is the Aged Gautr and Ruler of Asgard and Chief of Valhalla, Emperor Jupiter." The term Oddviti as Emperor - meaning it in the more archaic Roman sense of the term: Imperator ("War-Leader").

Some additional points:

The other instances of prophecy (the primary practice associated with seiðr), Oðinn is not the one prophesying. In Baldrs draumar, he raised up a dead witch in the underworld to tell him what he needed to know.

The instances of prophecy as mentioned in Ynglinga saga 7 are of an euhemerized version of him, and therefore should be looked at with some scrutiny. The saga gives a specific overview of what these different practices and types of magic are, but his association is primarily with galdr, shapeshifting, weather/element manipulation, battle-sorcery, herb-magic, and knowing the language of birds. Some of the practices such as shapeshifting are reminiscent of the Sámi Noadi practices. They are also said to be able to send out their spirit in the forms of animals while their bodies are sleeping.

In the instance of his impregnation of Rindr, Sigurðardrápa denotes this was accomplished by seiðr (seið Yggr til Rindar), but in Grógaldr it is denoted as galdr (þann gól Rindi Rani).

The accusation of the Samsø episode in Lokasenna in my view is really just that, an accusation, which is the premise of the senna style poetic form. Óðinn here is said to have used a drum like völva. He was said to have vitka líki fórtu verþjóð yfir, or have fared in the likeness of a warlock over men. The term vitka used has a connotation of controlling the senses, such as in vitkask, which refers to the recovering of one’s senses, or recovering from being in a swoon. The term vitka is associated with Finns (finnvitka, meaning to bewitch like a Finn), as they (or their mixed descendants) are typically the purveyors of sorcery in the sagas. In this lost story, it’s likely that Óðinn had used sorcery to control the senses of the men on Samsø.

My personal view on the matter is that Óðinn being a god, is not subject to the moralities of men. When in preparation for the Ragnarok, he must do what must be done and use every potential resource possible.
Óðinn worship is multifaceted. These are some of the many reasons you can worship Him.

King Richard III was a direct descendant of King Edward III via his fourth surviving son, Edmund of Langley, 1st Duke of York and founder of the House of York. The House of York was a cadet branch of the English royal House of Plantagenet founded in the 12th century by Geoffrey V of Anjou.

In contrast, Henry Tudor (King Henry VII) was a descendant of Sir Owen Tudor, a Welsh courtier. The Tudor family descended from Goronwy ab Ednyfed, a Welsh nobleman who received lands from King Edward I.
