The subliminal erosion of pride in Irish culture, our Revolutionary history, and all facets of our unique identity isn't by accident, it's by design.
It's designed to instil intrinsic Shame, a sense that "were lucky" to have the little we do have, but meanwhile we can, apparently somehow "save the world" (but can't save ourselves) that you shouldn't expect too much. You should go along to get along, keep the head down.
Meanwhile, the cabal of political elites running the state since it's inception, just over a hundred years ago, bleat proudly about how we are "first in class Europeans", about how much we care about Palestine, Africa and the latest elixir of NGO fuelled moral high handedness, Ukraine.
Of course the dogs in the street know we can't save anyone until we save ourselves, until we can house, and medically care for our people, offer a future to our young, and hope of care and security to our old, the political elites know this, but they also know that a people maintained in the grip of a Stockholm Syndrome like thankful dysfunction, would never dare to ask for better.
The decades of shame indoctrination, that "we're grand" that "there's always someone worse off" may be noble, but these are the luxurys of a society that has shrugged off its post colonial subservience and is actualy capable of providing the most basic requitements of statehood, the hard pressed Irish taxpayers seems to have gleefully adopted a blue flag with stars on it in place of the Union Jack.
Look around Ireland, look into your own families, villages, towns, cities, mass uncontrolled immigration, no plan, healthcare crisis, no plan, addiction and mental health epidemic, no plan. Impossible to even rent a home forget about ever owning one. Filthy dirty and dangerous streets, our city centres no go zones at night.
What's the destination for these utterly unsustainable EU mandated policies on immigration, energy, and social development? Where does it leave us?
It leaves us a living remnant. A remnant of an idea of Soverignty and independence paid for by generations through unimaginable famine, revolution, genocide and suffering.
We can't allow ourselves to be walked into the sea as a people. We can't stand back silently for fear of being called racist. We can't fear telling the truth for fear of a machine predicated and operated by liars.
It's time to stop apologising for being who we are.
Some things can only be given away once.

The former Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung editor and advisor to the Kohl administration in the late '90s also admitted to spreading anti-Russian propaganda and manipulating news under Western influence.
Ulfkotte revealed that many journalists were actually "non-official cover" - serving intelligence agencies rather than the public. He accused the German and US media of PUSHING EUROPE TOWARD WAR WITH RUSSIA, calling it a "point of no return."
