The U.S. and Saudi Arabia will sign an agreement to cooperate on developing a civil nuclear program for the kingdom during President Trump's visit later this week, a Saudi source close to the royal court told i24 News correspondent, Ariel Oseran.
The agreement will not include any steps on Saudi normalization with Israel, as reported by Reuters last week, amid growing frustration by the Saudis over the Israeli government's policies regarding the Palestinians, the source stated.
According to the Saudi source, if the U.S. fails to implement an agreement on a Saudi nuclear program, Riyadh will turn to China for assistance. That would strike a major blow to U.S.-Saudi relations.
