Analyst Comments: While the protest at Stuttgart was small, and comprising mostly of what appears to be children and military spouses, conducting a political protest on base is a rather bold move. For those unaware of the wholly un-democratic nature of the US military, protesting DoD leadership on base is generally very unauthorized (though this does depend on the guidance set by the local installation commander). As such, it's very likely that investigations are underway to identify the participants of political protests on base, to determine if any violations of policy occurred. At the moment it is not clear as to if the base commander authorized this activity (or even knew about it). More broadly, this on-base protest event must be considered in the larger context of DoD attitudes toward certain social issues. For instance, we must remember the recent scandal involving Fort Bragg and pro-life individuals...for many years, if someone simply had a state-DMV-issued pro-Life license plate, that was enough to flag service members as being potential terrorists. Yet in Stuttgart, military spouses (who benefit from the privilege of base access) are somehow allowed to gain access to sensitive locations to engage in political protest activity.

Analyst Comments: Purely based on very simple import/export data, there is zero chance that the trade war between the United States and Canada will turn in Canada's favor. Roughly 20% of Canada's entire GDP comes from trade with the United States...but less than 0.02% of America's GDP comes from Canadian trade. Furthermore, Canada's efforts to somehow pushback against the United States are largely grounded in something other than logic, almost entirely due to Canada's own domestic actions over the past few years. For instance, specifically and deliberately due to government pressure, the Energy East Pipeline project was canceled...in favor of using existing American pipelines. This means that, for the most part, Canada can't even transport their own petroleum from one side of the country to the other, without sending a substantial portion of it through the United States first. Canada does not publish specific statistics to determine exactly how much Canadian oil relies on being transported via American pipelines, but some estimates claim it could be as high as 20%. Conversely, the United States only gets about 3% of our oil from Alaska (that would thus require Canadian pipelines to move about due to the separation of geography).

Other controversy has emerged following the announcement of The Stargate Project, which is a conglomerate of commercial efforts to build AI infrastructure. AC: Considering the recent scandals with OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman, and the highly suspicious death of Suchir Balaji (an OpenAI whistleblower who's death occurred right after his disclosure of crimes OpenAI was alleged to have committed), this project is interesting. Analyst Comments: The Presidential pardons issued overnight are a novel experiment in American politics, as the White House has set the precedent for pardoning individuals who have not been charged with a crime. These pre-emptive pardons, to include pardoning sitting members of Congress, is a legal oddity that will undoubtedly be scrutinized for years to come. More immediately, this will probably tie up investigations into the crimes these individuals committed. Additionally, despite the wording of the announcement of these pardons on the White House website, historically speaking, Presidential pardons are usually required to be accepted on the part of the recipient, which in turn requires an admission of guilt as indicated by the precedent of the 1925 Burdick v. United States case. However, since this detail normally is irrelevant anyway (as all criminals who are pardoned are indeed guilty of the crime by being convicted), it's not clear how a pre-emptive pardon might be treated legally. Approximately one hour ago, a small commercial aircraft was reported as being overdue while conducting a routine flight in Alaska. A Cessna Caravan (tail number N321BA) operating for Bering Air was reportedly carrying 10x souls at the time of being reported missing.

Analyst Comments: In Washington, various protests and general outrage displayed by sitting Congressmen has continued following the de facto closure of USAID. Over the past 24 hours, internal reports released by DOGE have directly tied most of these politicians to "foundations" that were directly getting US tax dollar payouts from USAID. Of note, the outrage over the auditing of USAID is purely bipartisan, with politicians on both sides of the aisle being named as sitting on the boards of various entities that were directly getting financial payments from the US government. Many people often ask how it's possible for a member of Congress or some other government official to have a net-worth in the millions, while working a position that has a meager salary. Most people chalk this up to simply insider trading, but in the case of USAID, this organization has been a major cash cow for almost all American politicians since it's inception. Somewhat interestingly, President Zelensky of Ukraine stated in an interview with the Associated Press that his country only actually received around $75 billion out of the total $177 billion that was approved by Congress. Obviously, this is a claim that must be taken with a grain of salt as there are undoubtedly ulterior motives at play. However, the timing of this statement is interesting. Though largely speculative, it is possible that this claim being made immediately before massive audits come to light is intended to manipulate the future of Ukrainian aid by revealing how much Ukraine actually received versus what they think they are entitled to.

3 - A few hours later, when the truth comes out, all the big accounts delete their posts, issue a brief "whoops, I'm sorry" post, and pretend like it never happened. Or even better, gaslight their audience by shifting the anger. This is usually achieved by adopting the position of "hey guys, I'm just as mad as you are, let's go after the REAL cause of the misinformation". This is fairly effective in shifting the blame away from themselves, after they've pocketed the ad revenue already.
4 - Social media users dutifully shift their anger toward other sources, so as to not taint their favorite social media giants in their own eyes. In this case, after the truth came out, the criticism that really should be placed on the purveyors of fake information, was placed on the transgender community.
5 - Since this outrage was misplaced in this case, the transgender community now have been granted platforms by mainstream media, and have taken the opportunity to push their ideology further, in addition to having more maneuvering space to discredit the counter-transgender policy changes in government positions, such as military aviation.
6 - Since most users on social media have short memories, when this snowball of fake information starts again...pushed by the same exact accounts...most people will forget this grand lie, and the cycle continues. Right now, most people don't get their news from mainstream media...but this doesn't automatically mean that all "independent journalists" are honest either. Often times, the same exact people who will chastise others for listening to mainstream media, will hang on every word uttered by a random social media account, that never seems to provide any of their independent analysis, logic, or line of thinking...only the inflammatory headlines.
As of this report, two of the crew members onboard the Blackhawk have been identified, however the identity of the third is reportedly being withheld at the request of the family. Additionally, though this is unconfirmed at this time, the third unidentified crewmember is reportedly being classified as Duty Status - Whereabouts Unknown (DUSTWUN), indicating that their remains have not been recovered yet. Considering the fallout that has emerged on social media regarding all of the false information regarding this incident, it would not be unreasonable for a grieving family to want things to cool down before releasing the name. However, any mystery that is allowed to fester will result in even more suspicion from the terminally-online nature of most people on social media. The identity of the final crew member will be released at some point as this detail is public record and subject to the Freedom of Information Act, so someone will file a request eventually. For now, the best course of action is to wait for the investigation report to come out and shed some insight on this incident.

Of course, it must be noted that prison releases take time. Sometimes, more time than one might think. Sometimes the paperwork alone takes several hours. However, this decision did not occur in a vacuum; Presidential pardons and acts of clemency are a much different story. Over the weeks leading up to an Inauguration, various transition teams and committees are hard at work to make sure that the nation itself doesn't grind to a halt at noon on Monday. As such, the clemency paperwork would have already been distributed, and the process completed before the pardon came into effect. Per long-standing history surrounding Presidential pardons, as soon as a President signs the page, before the ink even dries, that prisoner should be walking out of the front door. This obviously did not happen, and a plethora of data indicates that this is not simply impatience with the release process, but a deliberate stonewalling effort by guards to drag their feet and hesitantly (and slowly, eventually) comply with a Presidential order.
Regarding the sheer audacity of the law enforcement officers who openly and flagrantly violated Presidential Pardon orders, this exceptionally bold activity is not unexpected at all. This is sometimes the unfortunate nature of regime change, and the sharp reality of the nature of political policing. Speaking more generally of historical cases of political prisoners...these types of incarcerated individuals are not like every other prisoner. Even more broadly, history has well documented what sometimes happens to military Prisoners of War at the end of a conflict, when their camp is about to be overrun.

On the exact same day President Trump announced this shocking policy shift, the White House also announced that he would be attending the Super Bowl this weekend in New Orleans. As a reminder, this exact same city was host to a complex Islamic-based terror attack a mere 32 days ago. California: A fire broke out at the Vistra Power Plant in Moss Landing overnight. So far the cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed, however the fire appears to have originated in one of the battery storage facilities at the plant. AC: The Vistra Power Plant is not a standard power plant, having been retrofit over the years to comply with California law. What began as a standard natural gas power generation facility, has increased to become what is claimed as being the largest Lithium-battery-based energy storage facility on Earth, storing roughly 750 megawatts of power. It is one of these annexes (one of the facilities housing exceptionally large battery banks) that the fire reportedly originated in. As such, this is not simply a fire at a natural gas plant, but rather a fire at a lithium battery storage facility.
In Los Angeles, societal disorder continues as the recent wildfires have spread authorities thin. Yesterday afternoon, multiple assailants on dirt bikes carried out an hour-long joyriding spree in Los Angeles, interfering with traffic throughout the afternoon.
Washington D.C. - Plans continue for the inauguration of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance on Monday. This morning, the plan was announced to move the swearing in ceremony indoors, to the Capitol rotunda, allegedly due to cold weather concerns.

Analyst Comments: This is almost certainly not due to weather concerns. Considering the high-profile nature of the event, the multiple attempts on Trump's life (specifically due to sniper threats), and the difficulty of securing the National Mall in the wake of the various proficiency concerns present amongst the US Secret Service, this event moving indoors is almost certainly more of a security precaution than anything else. This is certainly not a bad idea, and quite helpful for the various counterterrorism agencies working the event. However, concealing these concerns when everyone can see the weather excuse is flimsy, is disingenuous at best.
