Our Lord in heaven, as we go through this holy week, give us the grace and strength to walk in your path and carry up our cross, even through the persecution of the wicked. And for Christians in the diaspora who aren't living under violence and persecution, continue to grow in your faith and keep yourselves in communion with our Lord. Let us stay truthful and faithful in our daily tasks, whether under peaceful times or tribulent times.
Amen

Crocodile Tears of the Ummah
A few days ago, stories from the Southeast region of Nigeria have come out about a group of 16 people, hailing from the Northern Region of Nigeria, being executed by neck-lacing for accusations of kidnappings. As usual, instead of addressing the underlying causes behind the violence committed against these individuals, Muslims have gone on Twitter (X) to complain of “Christian terrorism”, “Islamophobia”, among other emotionally-charged buzzwords.
It is worth noting that police officers discovered locally made weapons, which triggered the mob lynching in the first place. While some might say what transpired was a deadly case of an overreaction by the locals, this tragedy occurs under the background of the ongoing crisis of violent abductions and the targeting of Christian communities that have been occuring in Nigeria, in which “5.1 Christians are abducted for every Muslim.”
It is no wonder then that local populations of Christians, particularly in the South, are on high alert, and are willing to resort to deadly force if necessary to protect their property, family, and friends. However, instead of addressing the disproportionate killings/abductions of Christians in Nigeria, Islamists have resorted to the classic tools of “whataboutism” and upright denial when it comes to these disturbing events. They sensationalize these small reprisals against Northerners/Muslims but refuse to acknowledge the Christian blood that is shed in their areas annually non-stop.
Let it be clear that Christians in Nigeria are sick and tired of being mistreated for their faith in Christ. If the government and those in authority are not willing to protect Nigeria’s vulnerable Christian populations, especially in the North, the world should not be surprised when Christians apply the law into their own hands.

You have been lied to about both Palestinian and Syrian Christians.
Poster put up in Iblin, Galilee (a Christian village) by local Christians, standing against jihadists in Syria.
Per Islamist propaganda, Palestinian Christians and Syrian Christians support local Muslims over their Christian brothers abroad. Both are false.
