🚨 The Government Media Office in Gaza issued a statement rejecting the occupation's plans to distribute humanitarian aid through their own channels as an occupying power. That scheme is part of the IOF's expansion of the ground operations in Gaza, agreed upon yesterday night.
The Government Media office considered that the proposed mechanism is subject to arbitrary "security" conditions, turning aid into an instrument of political blackmail and collective punishment. They stated that this scheme violates international principles, foremost among them the Fourth Geneva Convention.
They sharply noted that the scheme has nothing to do with distribution of aid, but rather is a consolidation of the starvation and siege policy to add pressure and deepen suffering. The weaponization of aid is completely rejected, in favor of a neutral system that guarantees fair and secure access.
