Being With Myself
Being enlightened means being self aware. Awareness of yourself means you don't miss anything inside. You are aware of things like the quality of your thoughts and feelings, of how you sometimes give your power to others, and how your self-esteem occasionally fluctuates.
You don't miss anything because you know that knowing yourself is vital to being comfortable with yourself. Are you comfortable with yourself? No! Then be with your self, talk to your self, listen to your self today. Take a few moments out and have a meeting with yourself.
Put yourself in your diary. Put your self at the top of your to do list. And write next to it, 'being with myself'.

Is It Necessary To Renounce (Leave) Society To Experience A Spiritual Lifestyle?
A good meditator is one who has a mental link or union with the internal self and the Supreme Soul or God who is the source of all goodness. This, along with an understanding of the laws of action or the laws of karma, which govern the behavior of souls, means that one does not have to renounce or leave society in order to achieve enlightenment. Rather, the soul filled with spiritual illumination faces society directly with understanding and the generosity to serve it and to elevate (improve) it.
The soul becomes elevated not by the renunciation of responsibilities or worldly duties but by a renunciation of the negativity that exists within the role being played by it in society. A good meditator does not try to escape social obligations (duties) but rather purifies those duties by becoming filled with light, love, peace and happiness. The stage of self-awareness and God-communication injects a subtle richness into one's life-patterns.
There are those who believe that the elevated state is beyond society and its duties. They find a quiet spot in the jungle or an ashram and contemplate (think about) deeper things. There are others who are stuck in the quicksand of their problems, and believe that those who leave society and take up a spiritual lifestyle are saints. However, holiness and virtue are qualities attained in one's life situations, not in running away from them. The elevated state is not merely a matter of elevated thoughts (which can be experienced in a sanyas), but elevated actions also, for the benefit of the self and the world. We are what we do and not so much what we imagine ourselves to be.

Attaining Success Using The Tool Of Visualization
A study shows that the majority of sportsmen and women, who win at prominent international events, are trained to use the tool of visualization to achieve success. Many months before the actual event, they visualize i.e. they create pictures of success inside their minds that they have already achieved their goal. The same principle of visualization is also used to cure patients from major illnesses including cancer. Patients are taught to visualize their diseased organs free from illnesses or visualize the organs receiving healing energy in some form or the other.
Visualization helps people to have 100% belief in themselves that they will achieve the desired goal. The efforts made with this powerful energy of belief have a greater probability of success than when you make the efforts without believing in what you are doing and without visualizing yourself as achieving your objectives.
If you think about your failures from the past, you stop believing in yourself, lose your enthusiasm and get frustrated. Visualizing images of a positive future helps you work from the present towards the future, without allowing the past failures to have any negative influence on you. You visualize yourself as a person, who has already overcome his fears and negative habits, and the fears are removed and the negative habits are transformed. You see yourself already transformed e.g. you say - I am a soul full of all powers and not - I am going to or am trying to fill myself with all powers. The power of that vision and the positive affirmations, combined together, is such that it helps you to bring about a major change in yourself, not just a small change, because you make it easy for your sub-conscious mind that is sleeping to wake up and realize its potential. You stop always expecting the worst and hope for, visualize and believe in the best.

Fulfilling The Criteria Of Positivity (Part 1)
What is the best way to define positivity? What, for you, is a positive thought, word or action? We could define positivity as something which leads me as well as others towards to a state of truth. A state of truth for me as well as any and every soul is a state in which it is an embodiment of the virtues of peace, love, joy, purity and power i.e. a state in which these virtues exist inside the soul to the fullest extent. As a result, in this state of truth everything that flows out of the soul or everything that it radiates or every thought, feeling, word or action that it creates, speaks or performs, is filled with these qualities. This state of truth is the original state of every soul.
All these qualities are connected with each other. One quality attracts the remaining qualities towards itself automatically. So, when I, through any medium, bring myself and others, whom I interact with, close to this state, to whatever extent, then that is positivity. If my thought, word or action takes me and others away from this state of truth, then that is the opposite i.e. negativity.

Becoming Free From Criticizing And Judging Others
A very important aspect of relationships is interacting with different people with different personalities and different words and actions - some words and actions may be negative and some of them may be positive, but not to our liking or not the same as we expect. In such situations, it's very easy to become critical and judgmental of others and sometimes we even start disliking others and thinking and talking negatively about them. What are a few qualities that we should imbibe so that we can transform this negative aspect of our personality?
1. Spiritual Love - We are all spiritual beings or souls, children of the one Supreme Being or Supreme Soul or God, who is the Ocean of Love. We have the same nature of love as God originally and when we start bringing that original nature of love in our relationships and start looking at everyone with the same vision of spiritual love, their weaknesses do not touch our consciousness and we forgive them easily.
2. Good Feelings And Good Wishes - Good Feelings are positive vibrations that we carry and radiate when we see people's specialties and goodness and good wishes are positive intentions that we have for others when we wish good for them at every step of their lives. Both make us understand others more and we become humble and free from negativity while seeing them.
3. Gratitude - All souls whom we interact with regularly, either in our family or friend circle or professional workplace have at some point of time, done something nice and positive for us and for others. Remembering those beautiful actions of theirs and being grateful for how they are and what they have done helps us see them in a positive light constantly.
4. Tolerance - One of the main reasons why we get disturbed easily by others negativity is that we lack the quality of tolerance. Tolerance increases by imbibing spiritual wisdom shared by God and connecting with God in meditation, who is the Ocean of Tolerance and Patience. He helps us become big-hearted, so that we can adjust with others easily and not criticize or judge them at all.

Transforming Our Dreams Into Reality (Part 1)
Our dreams and aspirations are like little seeds, invisible to the outer world. They could be different things for different people, but you alone will know your dreams as no one else has them. The seeds sleep deep in the earth, until someone among them is picked up with the desire to awaken. Then this little seed stretches itself and slowly pushes a little branch upwards towards the sun. In the same manner, everything that exists today in this world was at first created in our minds. Learning the art of creating thoughts in our minds, our inner world, very consciously and rightly is very important. Otherwise, what happens in the outer world is sometimes very different from what we expect or desire and what we dream of.
An organized mind is one which is away from unnecessary shifts, full of positively created and focused pure thoughts. Such a mind then organizes our whole system. Our physical and all our mental and emotional energies are then organized in one direction. This alignment has to be kept focused in one direction for some time – the direction of our dream, which we want to achieve and fulfill. Besides that, it is also important to have faith in God or the Supreme Soul. If we have a strong desire to achieve something, but we also keep over thinking about the difficulties we might facing in achieving it, it becomes an obstacle to the fulfillment of the desire and creates internal conflict. A positive thought is a powerful vibration attached to a dream and deep faith and determination is a means to reduce negative and unnecessary thoughts of anxiety and fear, which may arise when we are trying to achieve something in any sphere of life – whether personal, professional, social, emotional or spiritual. This power of positive thoughts is the key to success.

Start Taking Care Of Your Mind - An Inner Factory Of Thoughts
Suppose we own a factory that manufactures 50,000 garments a day, it is not wise if only a fraction of them is useful while rest of them are of no use. Our mind which is our inner factory creates around 40,000 - 50,000 thoughts a day. Every thought has the potential to be transformed into a powerful force through words or actions. As owners of this inner factory, we need to ensure every thought is useful. Our life is a long chain of thoughts which come into words and behaviors. Just as a farmer thoroughly checks the quality of seeds before sowing them, we need to check our thoughts which are seeds that bear fruits as words and actions. In other words, we need to take ownership of our thought factory.
1. Your every thought has 4 impacts – it creates your feeling, it affects every cell of your body, it reaches the person about whom you think, and it radiates into the environment. So, your thoughts are connected to your emotions, health, relationships and environment.
2. Observe your thoughts for a minute after every hour and classify them into 4 categories - Positive thoughts which are thoughts of peace, love, happiness and acceptance. Negative thoughts are of ego, hurt, anger, hatred or jealousy. Necessary thoughts are related to day to day activities, without the emotions of worry, irritation, fear or anxiety. Waste thoughts are about the past, future or about other people – all of which are not in our control.
3. The first stage to empower yourself is to create pure thoughts and good wishes for everyone. Study spiritual knowledge to slow down the mind and inculcate new ways of thinking in your subconscious mind. Every thought becomes a product of your spiritual charging, since information is the biggest source of your thoughts.

Natural Qualities and Acquired Qualities
When we look at ourselves from outside we can only see the surface of what we have become. We can't see or perhaps cannot even imagine the inner core (center), which, like in the example of the coconut, is the only part that really can nourish us and give us energy. The shell (in the case of the coconut) serves as a protection but we certainly can't eat it.
In our case, the core (center) consists of natural or inner qualities such as peace, love, power, truth, happiness and so on. The shell is the ego which consists of features or personality characteristics we have acquired through the journey of our lives such as experiences, abilities, memories, learning, habits and beliefs – in short, all that we are referring to when we say: 'I am so-and-so, from such-and-such family or organization or city'.
While we are limited to these acquired characteristics, our true qualities remain inaccessible. Through deep reflection and meditation we can break the shell and activate our inner qualities from which our values or principles are born.

Fulfilling The Criteria Of Positivity (Part 2)
In yesterday’s message we defined positivity and negativity from a spiritual perspective. Further elaborating, negativity hides my truth, and causes me to take incorrect steps during the day, without realizing, hurting myself and others yet not knowing how or why. At the level of non-physical spiritual vibrations, we are all connected with each other, as a result of which if I help others to come close to the experience of truth, a state in which the other is an embodiment of the virtues of peace, love, joy, purity and power (as defined yesterday), I will also help myself: whereas if I bring others down into a state of falsehood, the opposite, that will also bring me down. Whenever I give another soul an experience of any of these virtues, the virtue first flows through me and then touches the other. As a result there is an increase in the virtue inside me first and then the other is benefitted.
In the entire day, my words and actions may be numbered, but my thoughts are in thousands. My mind works, even when I sleep, even though I am not active physically at that time. The quality of my thoughts at that time is largely influenced by the quality of my thoughts, words and actions during the day. So I need to be aware throughout the day as to how much is each thought, word and action of mine fulfilling the criteria of positivity i.e. bringing me and others closer to a state of truth. The more my thoughts, words and actions do so; the result is an increase in an experience of inner and outer lightness in the self and a similar experience from me to those who come into my contact or whom I interact with.

Creative Visualization
The incorporeal (non-physical) soul, situated in the centre of the forehead consists of three energies. Although each energy can be given a different name, it is actually the same energy, the soul, functioning on three different levels at the same time. These are the mind, which is the thinking faculty (energy) of the soul; the intellect, which is the decision-making and visualizing faculty (energy) of the soul and the personality characteristics, commonly called sanskaras.
In the practice of meditation, on one hand, the mind is used to create pure, positive and powerful thoughts or affirmations based on the basic qualities of the soul like peace, contentment, happiness, love, joy, power, etc. Along with that, the intellect is used to create visual images of the same thoughts, which is called creative visualization. This process brings about a positive change in our sanskaras. This is the basic principle used in the Rajyoga meditation taught by the Brahma Kumaris. Creative visualization may be used in various ways to experience true relaxation of the mind.

Transforming Our Dreams Into Reality (Part 2)
Continuing from yesterday’s message, we have to know what we want to create in our lives that we care about. This has to be very clear in our minds, without any doubts e.g. If we desire to become mentally strong, we also have to become responsible for what we desire, and what we don’t and make choices accordingly. Just like a flower, in the preparation of her beauty, chooses her colours with the greatest care. She adjusts her petals one by one. It is only in her complete beauty that she wishes to appear. And then one morning, exactly at sunrise, she suddenly shows herself. In the same manner, our inner mental preparation done with care will create beautiful outer realities for us. While it’s very important to have conviction in our dream, it’s also important to be accepting others and adjusting with them and improving and empowering our inner spiritual personality side by side. Otherwise, we may find ourselves tired and alone at some point of time in the journey of fulfillment of our dream. Hence, truthfulness with humility, along with fearlessness and unconditional acceptance of others and remaining united with them is also important.
The ability of a human soul to be focused on its dream is immense. The World Drama finally shows what’s possible and what’s not based on our positivity and inner strength and God is also with us at every step. We, as souls, have to strive for our dreams. We should never use the past experience to decide on what can or cannot happen tomorrow. Spirituality is all about transforming yourself from body consciousness to spiritual or soul consciousness; not in search of God, but it is a journey of being an embodiment of divinity by connecting with God constantly and knowing and understanding Him deeply. If we experience the journey of spirituality in this way and realize that the source of all positive creation is within us, it will transform into a power that will create reality out of our thoughts and dreams.
