Hamas To Release Israeli Soldier After Talks With U.S.
The Hamas Movement, which rules the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip, announced late on May 11 that it intends to release Israeli hostage soldier Edan Alexander, who holds American citizenship.
In a statement, the group said that the decision to release Alexander comes after recent talks with United States officials and “intensified efforts to achieve a ceasefire, open border crossings, and allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.”
Alexander is one of 24 hostages who are believed to still be alive in Gaza. Hamas is reportedly holding the bodies of 35 other hostages.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Mossad intelligence agency announced on May 11 that they had recovered the remains of a tanker who went missing in the battle of Sultan Yacoub in 1982 in Lebanon from the “heart of Syria.”
In a joint statement, they said that the remains of Sergeant First Class Zvi Feldmanin were recovered in a special operation. They added that the “complex and covert operation” was made possible by “precise intelligence” and other capabilities, including “intelligence research and collection efforts and many activities and operations in enemy territory.”
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) inflicted heavy losses on the IDF during the battle which took place in the Beqaa Valley. 21 Israeli troops were killed, and more than 30 others were injured at the time. Syrian troops also destroyed ten main battle tanks, and captured several others.

The Hamas-run health ministry in the Palestinian enclave reported 23 killed and dozens more wounded during the previous 24 hours.

In a later statement, the IDF said that the elite Paratroopers Brigade was being redeployed from southern Syria to southern Israel ahead of an upcoming major offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Western Media Claims Again That Iran Is Shipping Ballistic Missiles To Russia

On the first day of Operation Barbarossa, late in June of 1941, German planes attacked Soviet fleets and naval bases. Not only the Baltic, but also the Black Sea Fleet was attacked.
In Spring 1942, Hitler set the task of destroying the Baltic Fleet. On April 4, Operation “Ice Strike” began, but the Soviet Baltic Fleet survived.
In the spring of 1943 Hitlerites compressed the ring of blockade around Leningrad, trying to lock the fleet in the city, they blocked the Gulf of Finland with a continuous network barrier. But all was in vain.
The Baltic Fleet broke through to the high seas in 1944. Battles were fought on a front thousands of kilometers long. The Black Sea Fleet would return in the same year to both Sevastopol and Odessa and help liberate them from the Nazis.

Putin Says Russia Wants Ceasefire Kiev Would Respect
Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered Ukraine a chance to return to direct negotiations “without any preconditions,” stressing that Moscow would only accept a ceasefire that Kiev would actually respect.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) unveiled on May 8 an underground drone base belonging to its naval forces.
The base, located in the southern province of Hormozgan along the shores of the Persian Gulf, is one of many built by Iran in recent years in a bid to improve its defenses.
In video footage released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, IRGC commander Major General Hossein Salami and the guard’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri are seen touring the base, which houses hundreds of drones.
The footage showed Ababil 3 and 5 combat drones, Bavar-5 loitering munitions, as well as Sadegh reconnaissance drones.
It also included high-resolution imagery of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier and other vessels of the United States Navy in the Persian Gulf, which were recently taken by Mohajer-6 combat drones. The drone monitored the vessels for ten consecutive hours, according to the state broadcaster.

The footage showed Ababil 3 and 5 combat drones, Bavar-5 loitering munitions, as well as Sadegh reconnaissance drones.
It also included high-resolution imagery of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier and other vessels of the United States Navy in the Persian Gulf, which were recently taken by Mohajer-6 combat drones. The drone monitored the vessels for ten consecutive hours, according to the state broadcaster.

Soviet airfields were among the first targets hit by the Nazis with the start of Operation Barbarossa on June 22 of 1941. 800 Soviet airplanes were lost on the ground and 40 in the air.
German newspapers announced the triumph, but failed to take into account the determination of Soviet pilots and the capabilities of Soviet industry.
On August 8 of the same year, Soviet bombers raided Berlin. Goebbels attributed the raid to British bombers in a desperate attempt to hide the embarrassing failure of the Luftwaffe.
After the Battle of Stalingrad in 1943, the Soviet Air Forces became dominant in the air. The Germans experienced endless aerial bombardment.
The Russians had shot down 77,000 Nazi airplanes by the end of the war. The Soviet Air Forces emerged victorious over the Luftwaffe, which was wiped out.
