What did 'The Chosen' get right with 'Gaius' the Centurion?
'The Chosen' series presents a compelling arc for this character, but how far is it based on the Gospel—read on this Third Sunday of Epiphanytide?

What did St Paul do straight after his conversion?
He didn't set up a YouTube channel, that's for sure.

Can liturgical changes affect validity? Cardinal Vaughan says yes
He said that systematic liturgical changes demonstrate the intentions of those responsible for them, and can render the rite of doubtful validity.

Wedding at Cana: Who was the bridegroom?
Saints, Doctors and mystics have offered answers to the question of who was getting married at Cana.

The Pope is absolutely above Councils, can't submit to their coercive judgment
Bellarmine shows the Pope is absolutely above both the rest of the Church and general councils, and that no authority can judge or coerce him. This is why the ‘fifth’ opinion is true.

'Ipso facto': Bellarmine's 'five opinions' on the heretic pope question
One of the most infamous—and contemporary—topics in St Robert Bellarmine's 'Controversies' is that of the five opinions on the 'heretic pope.'
But some have never read it in full. Let's get it all out on the table and read it, whether for the first time or as a review:

The Bishop had a peaceful night. His breathing has now become more shallow and slower. He was not alone and had good souls with him again all night.

What's superior, Pope or Council? Bellarmine sets out the objections
Some claim Bellarmine taught that a council is necessary to effect the loss of office (or 'non-papacy') of a manifestly heretical 'pope.' But this comes with some implications he firmly denied.

The latest update on the Bishop on Sunday evening of 26th January.
The Bishop is unconscious but comfortable. His breathing is a little bit more laboured. He does not really react to anything.
He has had about two dozen visitors today, all of whom have been offering up prayers around his bed. Some good souls are spending another night with him so that he is not alone.

What do solitary mission priests teach us about the Incarnation?
They stand as Our Lady stood after the Annunciation—alone in the hidden presence of God. They call us to join them before him.

91% – that's the proportion of Christ's earthly life spent as part of the Holy Family, doing 'nothing,' quietly subject to Our Lady and St Joseph in an obscure town, before beginning his ministry.
Why did he do this?
